ERYC Trading Standards - No Cold Calling Zones scheme

ERYC Trading Standards will help streets/neighbourhoods to establish a 'No Cold Calling Zones' scheme and will pay for signs to be erected.

The idea is to discourage unwanted callers/salesmen and thus reduce doorstep crime and bogus official offences (distraction burglaries as they are known in the trade) - leading to householders, especially the elderly or infirm, feeling safer in their own homes.

The scheme is backed by the police and is well established in various parts of the country.

The parish council would like residents to think about it for their own areas.
